1st Annual Brooklyn Big Eyed Blues Festival Youth Workshop October 2006

Hello All!

Just wanted to share some photographs of our 1st Annual Brooklyn Big Eyed Blues Festival Youth Workshop. Twenty (20) community youths were selected to participate in workshops that included an introduction to blues guitar, harmonica and blues writing. All sessions were led by area professionals. Michael Hill of "The Michael Hill Blues Mob" (guitar), Keith "The Captain" Gamble (harmonica) and Tuliva Cumberbatch (blues writing), were among the professionals who pitched in. This year's workshop will take place on October 27, 2007. Forty youths will be selected to participate. You can help offset the cost of this year's workshop by sponsoring one child for $25. For further information, please contact Big Eyed Productions at 718-919-0697 or by email at bigeyedblues@verizon.net. Please enjoy the photos...and remember..."Keep Blues alive...let it live in Brooklyn!"

2nd Annual Brooklyn Big Eyed Blues Festival

Hello All!

Just a little shout to all who missed last year's 1st Annual Brooklyn Big Eyed Blues Festival....you missed a grande time. We had the wonderful "Michael Hill Blues Mob", the simulating, gyrating "Keith "The Captain" Gamble and the Brand Nu Gypsies" and me performing with the Befo' Quotet. There were a couple of great historical movies shown by Walter Taylor (I call him the "movie guru"), good food, good spirits, and good spirits!

However, the most exciting and fulfilling aspect of the festival was early in the day, neighborhood youths were given workshops in blues guitar, harmonica and blueswriting. All classes were taught by professional musicians from the neighbor hood,

So, please get ready for this year's festival. We're going to be bringing you more top notch performances. Please mark your calendars and save the date...

Hello All!

At last, the 1st Brooklyn Big Eyed Blues festival is here! I've been bending your ears for the last two years with the phrase, "Keep Blues Alive...Let it Live in Brooklyn". It's not that I want it to live only in Brooklyn, I just want it to live!

We at Big Eyed Productions, are dedicated to assisting in reviving and sustaining Blues music.

In our attempt to "Keep Blues Alive", we will start out the festival with a Blues workshop for community youths. The youths will be given an introduction to guitar, harmonica and blues writing. Thirty youths will be chosen to participate in the workshop. Classes will be taught by area professionals, such as the outstanding vocalist, Tulivu Cumberbatch, The Blues captain, Keith Gamble and the 'Gentle Bear", Michael Hill, of the Michael Hill's Blues Mob.

We will bring in the evening with performances by Beareather Reddy & Quartet, Keith"The Captain" Gamble and the Brand Nu Gypsies and The Michael Hill's Blues Mob.

Please come out and listen to some "red hot BLUES" and help us keep this wonderful American art form alive!

bye for now!
